Internet Money Makers Carnival 4th Edition

Welcome to the fourth edition of Internet Money Makers Carnival. Now that I have made this carnival a weekly thing there aren't quite as many articles as last time, but still plenty to get your teeth into. There won't be a carnival next week due to Christmas, the next one will be in the new year. Please enjoy the articles.

Stefanie presents Earn Money by Participating in a Discussion Board posted at Random Encounters of We, saying, "myLot is a great site to join to add an extra stream of income."

SirLook Team presents Is It Better to Say ?What is Google? OR ?Who is Google?? posted at wWw SirLook Network.

David presents To Open or not to Open Comments – The Blogger’s Dilemma posted at Worldwide Success, saying, "One of the key decisions every blogger needs to make is whether to keep the comments functionality open or disabled. I can see pros and cons in either approach. It is nice to build a sense of community in your blog and allow people to make comments. Well thought out comments add real value to a blog. But moderating comments and responding takes time away from writing quality content that could be of higher value to readers. Should bloggers allow comments? What do you think?"

Bryan C. Fleming presents Million Dollar Savings Club hits 100 Days! posted at Bryan C. Fleming.

Praveen presents How to Build A Large Volume Ebay Business posted at My Simple Trading System.

Silicon Valley Blogger presents Wanted: Ads That Make Sense posted at The Digerati Life, saying, "My experience with AdSense when I first started involved badly targeted ads. So I wrote this piece!"

2 Pennies Earned presents Experiment: Turning a Profit on Ebay posted at 2 Pennies Earned.

Paul presents Increasing your hourly rate in order to get rich posted at Paul, saying, "When it comes to making more money, a lot of people think about working harder or working more. They equate the amount of money you get out with the amount of effort you put in. But this isn't really the case."

Bofia presents High Yield Investment Programs and Investing posted at Bofia's Blog.

Ed presents Feel Clever While Saving Money on Printing posted at Daily Dose of Optimism, saying, "After spending about $200 on toner cartridges in the span of a few months, none of which seemed to quite achieve the 2,000 pages per cartridge as advertised, I began looking into alternative solutions. Here's a great solution I found that I hope you enjoy!"

James D. Brausch presents Conversion Lies posted at jamesbrausch.com.

Julie Alexander presents AGLOCO Pays You To Surf posted at Resources For Making Money On The Net.

RobStGeorge presents Its not that hard to make $100 US Dollars a month part time posted at The Million Dollar Experiment heads Down Under, saying, "This week we look at how it is not that hard to make at least $100 US dollars a month."

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of internet money makers carnival using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.

Traffic levels are their way back up again, I think this is due to the publishing of the carnival, everytime I have published a new edition my traffic levels rise. My visits via search engines are continuing to go up especially from google, with 162 out of 175 search engine visits from google. Top Blog Lists is a new list that I added myself to last week and has provided me with a good number of referrals. Lastly MyLot has also sent me a few visitors too, see my previous article for more details of MyLot.

I'm still not raking in the cash but my earnings are going up, especially from Adsense, I've made more from Adsense in the last week than I did the whole of last month. I'm just going to keep plugging away and I will hopefully continue to gradually increase my earnings.

Jumping on the MyLot Bandwagon

It seems lately that every money making blog I read has a post about how they've joined MyLot, I resisted joining myself for awhile as the returns didn't seem very high. I eventually succumbed and signed up, just to see what all the fuss was about.

What is MyLot?

MyLot is similar to a forum, you start or participate in discussions, unlike most forums though, the discussions can be about any subject. The most important difference between MyLot and forums is that MyLot pay you for contributing.

How much do you get paid?

How much you get paid depends on the quality of the contributions. Nobody except MyLot know exactly how the payments are worked out, but there seems to be some complex algorithm that rewards for quality. What this means is you get paid less or possibly even nothing for simple one word answers, and more for more thorough answers. Although even if the quality of your responses are high the payouts are still small, only a few cents, you have to do a lot of writing to make significant amounts.

You can also make money by referring new members, getting a percentage of what they earn.

Why join?

There are a couple of reasons I can see for joining, and I have listed them below.

  1. If you like to participate in forums and discussions anyway, you may as well get paid something to do it.
  2. Traffic to your website or blog. By adding you site address to your MyLot profile and in your responses (only where appropriate), you will likely generate some extra traffic.
  3. Making money by starting and participating in as many discussions as possible and from referrals.

Conclusion

So far I have only participated in about 20 discussions and only made about $0.50, but after responding to a money making discussion and including my blog address, I did receive an extra 25- 30 hits. I think if you have time and like to participate in lots of discussions this can be a good way of making a few extra quid and maybe even generating some traffic to your own blog or website, but it won't make you a living. Give it a try and see what you think.

Sex Sells

Apparantly sex sells, or so I'm told anyway, well if that's the case then I want a bit of the action, to that end I've created my latest blog "Make Money With Sex Ads".

I want to keep this blog clean and family friendly, so I've started a new blog as an experiment to see if I can make money from ads that are more adult in nature. The new blog will be similar to this one as I will be reporting weekly as to my progress and will be writing articles on the sites and services I find for making money with adult content.

Please only visit this site if you are over 18 and you are not offended by explicit material.

Sponsored Post - The Best Way to Increase Link Popularity

Sponsored Post

The Best Way to increase link popularity is an article written on the USWEB Blog that explains, as the title says how to increase link popularity to your site. This is an interesting article that discusses the complexities of Googles algorithm for deciding how a site ranks in its search results and how the number of links you have pointing to your site affects this. The article then goes on to list a number of ways of increasing link popularity including press releases, link exchanging and link baiting. Finally the article explains how blogs can be used to increase link popularity and how using a service such as blogitive can get your link on many blogs. This article is well worth a read with some very useful advice.

Blogitive - Get Paid to Post

A couple of weeks ago I was recommended Blogitive by Tom and Rob as being a good way of making extra cash, so as usual I signed up to see what they had to offer.

Blogitive is another pay for posts service similar to Blogsvertise, but instead of waiting for offers to be emailed to you, you login to the Blogitive website and choose from a list of offers. Every time I've logged in there have been between 2 and 5 offers listed, the standard payment for each offer is usually $5. There is no limit to the number of offers you can accept although there must be at least 2 normal posts of at least 50 words between each paid post. Payments are made once a week into a paypal account so you will need to have one setup to get paid. So far I have done one post for them, the post was accepted within minutes of submitting it and I was paid promptly within a week My first impressions of Blogitive have been good there seems to be a good number of offers and they pay quickly. If you have a number of blogs it is possible to make quite a bit of money with them. So far I would definately recommend them as a source of additional income.
